Weekend road accident victims are named

The two people who died in separate road accidents in Northern Ireland on Sunday (December 5) have been named.

The first accident happened near Ballymoney at around 1.30 p.m.

53-year-old woman Shirley McCauley died when two cars collided on the Frosses Road.

Mrs. McCauley, who lived in Ballymoney, was a passenger in one of the cars.

The second fatality happened in Newtownabbey.

Colin Weir (33) died after being struck by vehicle on the Doagh Road.

A second pedestrian was injured in the accident which happened at just before 11 p.m. 

Mr. Weir lived in the Monkstown area of Newtownabbey. 

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
