Driving force behind Top of the Pops dance troupe passes away

The death has taken place of Flick Colby who was a co-founder of the dance troupe Pan’s People. She was 65.

Ms. Colby was an American who found fame on British television during the 60s and 70s on Top of the Pops.

She was regarded as the driving force behind Pan’s People who provided dance routines on the music show at a time before the pop video was developed.

The dance troupe made their last appearance on TOTP in April 1976, but before this Ms. Colby had drop out of the line-up to work behind the scenes as choreographer.

She would have just a few hours to come up with a routine and rehearse it before the show was recorded.

After the group broke-up she eventually moved back to Clinton, New York, with her husband George where she opened a gift shop.

Ms. Colby had been battling cancer for some time.
