Tributes are paid to travel writer and former comedian

Tributes have been paid to the travel writer and former comedian Peter Moss who was killed in an explosion in Morocco. He was 59.

Mr. Moss died along with at least 15 people in a bomb attack on a cafe in Marrakesh on Thursday (April 28).

The father-of-two from London had worked in his family’s property business until the 1990s when he “reinvented” himself and became a stand-up comedian.

He was to enjoy success at this, performing more than 2,000 times on the comedy circuit.

But another major career change was to beckon when he began to show great skills as a travel writer.

His work appeared in a number of publications, including the Jewish Chronicle.

In 2004 he was commended at the British Press Awards as: “One of the country’s finest travel writers, with an unmatched eye for detail and a wonderful sense of the excitement of discovering new places.”
