1950s film star Anne Francis passes away

Anne Francis who was a film star in the 1950s has died. She was 80.

Ms. Francis starred in the science-fiction classic Forbidden Planet.

Among her other movie credits was Bad Day At Black Rock which starred Spencer Tracey and The Blackboard Jungle in which she starred along side Glenn Ford.

Later she was to star as the sexy private eye in the long-running TV series Honey West.

Ms. Francis had been receiving treatment for lung cancer.
