Swine flu victim was a young boy from the Republic

It has been confirmed that a 2-year-old boy who died while being treated for swine flu in Northern Ireland had been transferred from the Republic.

It is not known if the child had any underlying health problems.

The death toll in Northern Ireland now stands at 19. A 10-month-old boy is among the victims.

Officials have said that two of the victims did not have any underlying health problems.

Meanwhile Health Minister Michael McGimpsey had said the health service is able to cope with the swine flu outbreak.

The Public Heath Agency has revealed that 800,000 doses of both seasonal and swine flu vaccine have been made available in Northern Ireland.
