Actor Bruce Gordon passes away

The actor Bruce Gordon, best known for his role in TV’s The Untouchables, has died. He was 94.

Mr. Gordon played mobster Frank Nitti in the long-running series in which Robert Stack starred as crime-fighter Eliot Ness.

His strong features meant that Mr. Gordon was to play many tough characters during his long career in television and on the stage.

Over the years he appeared in many top TV shows, including Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Perry Mason and Peyton Place.

His stage appearances included being in the original Broadway production of Arsenic and Old Lace alongside Boris Karloff.

Mr. Gordon retired in the mid-1980s.
