Former Crossroads actress Sue Lloyd passes away

THE actress Sue Lloyd, who will be best remembered for her role in the popular TV soap Crossroads, has passed away. She was 72.

Ms. Lloyd had enjoyed a career in TV and films before joining the cast of Crossroads in the mid-1970s to take up the role of Barbara Hunter (see below).

Her film credits included The Ipcress File (1965) in which she starred alongside with Michael Caine

The pair were to team-up again in Bullet to Beijing in 1995.

In the seventies she starred with Joan Collins in the films The Stud and The Bitch.

Her TV credits included appearances in The Saint, The Sweeney, Randall & Hopkirk and a long run in the series The Baron.

In 1991 she married Ronald Allen with whom she had starred alongside in Crossroads. The couple had been together for years before getting married, but within weeks of the ceremony Mr. Allen had passed away from cancer. 

She published her autobiography, It Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time, in 1998.
